Bio

Originally from Austin, TX, Laurie Shaw comes from generations of artists. Her training began at home while listening to her grandparents sing hymns, watching her mother paint in the kitchen, and crafting elaborate games of make believe with her brother and sisters.

Younger years were spent in the dance studio where she studied ballet, tap, pointe and jazz under the direction of Judy Thompson-Price. She began vocal training in 2005 under Dr. Michael McKelvey (Doctuh Mistuh Productions) and received acting coaching from David Valdes and Ginger Morris (Summer Stock Austin). She went on to study musical theatre performance at Marymount Manhattan College in 2006 where she received training from Ryan Rogers, Tim Howard, and the faculty of Steps on Broadway.

Laurie remains active in local community and professional theatres in Northwest Georgia and surrounding areas and is a Board Member at The Ringgold Playhouse. In 2017 she began her film career through collaborations with Theeves Productions, CrossRoads Media, and Steele Cinema.  In recent years, she's worked on larger projects with entities like Tennessee Valley Authority, Sundance Film Festival's Amman Abbasi, and Emmy Award Winning director Dagan Beckett of Beckett Arts Project.
